If you've ever shaken hands with a sheep shearer you'll have noticed how soft their skin is. Lanolin, a natural water-proofing found in sheep's wool, is an uber powerful lubricant that has been used for centuries to hydrate and protect the skin. In 1893, Bradford based Pharmacist Fred Mitchell formulated a shaving soap rich in Lanolin to give a close shave with added protection and an incredibly thick lather.

If you ever have the opportunity to run your fingers through sheep's wool, you'll notice the film left on your hands afterwards. Living in some of the harshest conditions, sheep keep themselves warm and dry by secreting Lanolin into their fleece. This thick and greasy water-proofing has been used for centuries to soften and condition the skin, and blended into shaving soap, it gives an outstanding lather that completely protects the skin whilst aiding glide. The face is left in perfect form post-shave.

Can be used with or without a shave brush. If you prefer not to use a shaving brush, simply wet the soap and rub it between the palms of your hands to create a lather.

Using your shave brush and a little warm water work the soap into a rich lather and apply to the face.
